I want to be able to see updates just from my close friends - while still maintaining linkages to my colleagues and acquaintances.

Allow us to select only those people we want to be updated about - I could care less about the 1,000 "friends" I have added only to play games! :)

It's totally buried several layers down right now.

When I'm browsing other people's friends, I have the option to see which friends we have in common. It would be nice if the same could be done with pages. So, for example, if the fact that I'm a fan of X, and my friend is also a fan of X, is shown somewhere, it would be a nice way to tell which interests we have in common.
